Inspiring SCI communities

4 Oct 2013

One of SCI's objectives is to 'Inspire and support a growing, active, multidisciplinary community of members from business, academia and the public sector who will create networks, share knowledge and be ambassadors for SCI'.

Those actively involved in SCI interest groups will already experience the benefits of collaborating with a diverse community of people who share a common interest (see Technical Groups below).

But what about members who have not yet found a group to inspire their involvement or who cannot participate regularly in face to face meetings due to time or distance?

SCI does offer a range of different ways to communicate with fellow members and to identify future collaborators:

  • Post your comments on SCI online forums
  • Join SCI on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIN
  • Attend SCI conferences or public lectures which interest you to meet like-minded members
  • Profile yourself and your interests on the new SCI Members' Directory and use the directory to search for members with similar interests (sign in to get started)
  • Write a letter to C&I's editor or comment on its blogs
  • Come to the next Members' Forum, and share your views on how you would like to see SCI operating in the future

If you would like further information about any of the above or you'd like to suggest new ways of engaging with other SCI members, please contact

Executive Director, 2010-13
