Paul Booth will become SCI Honorary President at the AGM on 4 July 2012, succeeding Dr Stephanie Burns.

After spending much of his career with ICI, and then Huntsman, Paul is currently acting Vice President for the SABIC European region. SABIC is a fast-growing international chemicals business.

Paul is also a member of the Council of the Chemical Industries Association, chairman of North East of England Process Industry Cluster, an industrialist representative on the new Tees Valley Unlimited Local Enterprise Partnership and a board member for Plastics Europe North.

SABIC, headquartered in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, ranks among the world's top petrochemical companies. The company is among the world's market leaders in the production of polyethylene, polypropylene and other advanced thermoplastics, glycols, methanol and fertilisers.

SABIC's businesses are grouped into chemicals, polymers, performance chemicals, fertilisers, metals and innovative plastics. Paul has kindly agreed to present the Annual Summer Keynote Lecture on the topic of Chemical Connections on the evening of the AGM on 4 July 2012.
