- HSL Has Had an Interest in the Measurement of Diesel Engine Exhaust Emissions (DEEE) since the 1990s and Has Used Diesel Exhaust Particulate (DEP) as the Proxy for DEEE in General James Forder, Higher Scientist, Analytical Science Unit HSL The talk will expand on the history of HSL's work in the area and will describe the recent work on real-time measurement of DEP and the potential advantages and limitations of these techniques for use in workplace environments. James is the lead analyst of HSL for the measurement of elemental and organic carbon in particulates arising from emissions from diesel engines and has substantive experience in this area.
